What you see before you in the picture below, is someone very excited about being home to do creative Christmas projects! I always feel so much more inspired when I’m around my family & in my cosy English country home. Having spent the morning relaxing in bed and watching Pixar’s “Up” with Seb (ah, such a sweet film to watch at Christmas – and it appeals to my dog-obsession) I came up with a rather original way of displaying my parents’ Christmas cards!
The doggie in the basket is our very own Truffle the Doglet! (She has her own facebook page too). I painted her onto some card with pen & watercolours.
My family were impressed with this new way to display cards! After all, we use the same old methods every year of attaching them to ribbons – which looks nice, but this arched doorway was pretty yet a perfect blank space ready to be filled. In fact, they liked it so much that my dad made a snowman for the other side!
This doesn’t have to just be a Christmas display either. We were talking about how nice it might be to display family photos this way during the year too. And it didn’t cost me anything to make really. Amazing what you can do with a bit of blu-tak and string, isn’t it?
