It has been a busy month, partly due to the time I’ve been spending with my old academic hat on, sandwiched between the pages of books and essays, chain-drinking tea and wrestling with powerpoint on my ancient Dell once again. I even went to the library. And took a library picnic. All in the name of entertainment! If you find yourself in West Oxfordshire with nothing to do on this coming Tuesday evening you can listen to me blather, in person.
JOTTED HISTORIES: ART JOURNALS & SKETCHES OF THE SELF
Fee: £3 to include refreshments (no need to book, simply come along!)
Date/time: Tuesday 2 September, 7.30pm
Venue: West Ox Arts gallery
Linked with ‘OVER & OUT’, recent History of Art graduate Charlie Fothergill will take a look at a number of inspiring takes on the art journal format from modern art history. What can we learn from these artists’ intimate inner landscapes? Charlie will also show extracts from her own numerous art journals and question whether these jottings help us to make sense of our lives.
All packed up and ready to go!
