When life gets stressful, I usually have a simple solution: cook. You may not be a fan of this idea, or even find cooking relaxing at all, but you can’t go wrong with today’s combination – especially if you have a nasty cold, lots of complicated paperwork going wrong, and a few too many projects to handle at once.
Here’s the recipe to a comforting, relaxing evening… take a loaf of warm, homemade bread (see my mum’s recipe here), and whip together some easy leek & potato soup, served with extra cream, lots of pepper & grated cheese.
Peanut butter & pretzel cookies, alongside camomile tea, is a winning combination too it turns out! Thanks to my mum doing a bit of baking this evening. It seems like I’m not the only one to likes to bake to de-stress!
Then junk out in from of Midsomer Murders, Smallville, or whatever easy-watching tv you prefer! This is guaranteed to make a rainy, stressful, or virus-tainted day a significant amount better! 🙂
