There was absolutely no way I was going to miss out on all of the Halloween fun this year, and although it has been a busy week, I found the perfect little recipe to fit into my evening yesterday! In fact, I’ve been wanting to make these funny little ‘Phantom Flapjacks’ (as I have named them… although my housemate Amy’s idea of “Caspar the Friendly Flapjack” would work too!) for aaggess!
They are a little crispy for flapjacks, this particular batch. It’s so easy to forget that flapjacks firm up so much after you take them out of the oven. In fact, when you have a lot of essays playing on your mind… it’s so easy to forget that you have some flapjacks in the oven at all… eek! Find the recipe here – they’re so simple! I wonder if they could be adapted for something Christmassy – why not make some Snowman versions? Ooh, I think I might take up that idea myself!
Now let’s see what fabulous creations have been underway in the Fothergill household this week (and I’m very jealous that I missed out on pumpkin-carving this year!)…
Aren’t they amazing?! I’m trying to guess which family member made which. It’s not too hard… my mum’s vegetive knowledge (can you say that for knowledge of vegetables? Who knows!) lead her to buy a “Mangle-Wurzel” and make this amazing stitched-up zombie vegetable (where do you think they grow… on Franken-vines? Eeeuugggh I know). I have a feeling that the ingenious orange-eyes would be a Henry-ism too.
